Congratulations Jaz! Inaugural winner of Geoff Selig Industry Scholarship Award announced

Team IVE is truly honoured to announce the first winner of the Geoff Selig Industry Scholarship – Jacinta (Jaz) Allen.

The Scholarship was awarded at the industry’s annual ProPrint Awards on Friday 25^th October in Sydney.  Jacinta Allen (Jaz), Graphic Prepress Coordinator at Breen Printing was named the successful recipient of the scholarship who will receive up to $10,000 of funding towards personal and professional development.  

This marks the first of the Geoff Selig Scholarships that were created to honour IVE’s much loved and much missed former Executive Chairman, Geoff Selig.  Geoff was known for his true love of people and his genuine interest in watching them thrive and shine.  Three Scholarships have been set up in his name – the first as an industry award – and the second two for IVE staff which will formally launch later this year.

Jaz said of the award: “I’m delighted to have been chosen for such a special award. I’m passionate about helping evolve the print industry through latest innovations and new practices to keep us relevant and competitive. I’m also keen to further explore the effects our industry has on the environment and how we can implement more sustainable practices moving forward.   I plan to visit industry leaders in Japan like Fujifilm, Konica Minolta, and Canon to learn more about the technology and machinery they're using, what they're planning on introducing and where they stand on sustainability. It means a lot to me to now be able to bring back information and knowledge on their practices to benefit both my workplace and the wider industry.”

All finalists for this year’s 2024 ProPrint Awards Emerging 50 category were invited to enter the Scholarship (aside from IVE employees who will have two additional Scholarships made available to them later this year) and has been jointly funded by IVE Group and ProPrint.
