National Recycling Week: Giving old tech, new life!

To celebrate National Recycling Week, we wanted to shine the light on PonyUp for Good and the incredible work they do in the e-waste space.
For more than 8 years, IVE has been partnering with PonyUp for Good, in fact we were the first business to join the social enterprise!
PonyUp for Good, a social enterprise and engagement agency, turning decommissioned technology (think computers, laptops, mobile and desk phones, servers and more) into ways to help Australians in need. Since 2016 and through our partnership, over 25,000 kgs of IVE technology has been diverted from landfill for reuse or recycle, and turned into more than 26,000 fresh meal donations via SecondBite, supporting vulnerable folk across Australian communities.

PonyUp collects donated, decommissioned technology, keeping toxic e-waste out of landfill & waterways and remarketing equipment in bulk under their ‘reuse first policy’ in line with EPA standards, extends its valuable life. PonyUp provides a range of data destruction, risk mitigation services, along with security and ESG reporting.
50% of PonyUp profits are then donated to SecondBite, Australia’s largest fresh food rescue charity.
In 2023, SecondBite rescued over 25 million kgs of surplus food from landfill, supported 1,152 charity partners with free, quality, nutritious food and delivered over 50 million healthy meals to vulnerable Australians.
Happy National Recycling week!
