IVE is proud to announce we are officially a member of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO). APCO is a not-for-profit organisation leading the development of a circular economy for packaging in Australia. With an extensive packaging offering within the group, we recognise our responsibility to champion sustainable packaging, from design and production processes through to recycling initiatives and landfill reduction.
As part of this agreement and in line with our ESG strategy, we commit to working in partnership with our clients to help the APCO work towards its 2025 targets of:
- 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging
- 70% of plastic packaging being recycled or composted
- 50% of average recycled content included in packaging (revised from 30% in 2020).
- The phase out of problematic and unnecessary single-use plastics packaging. ‘
APCO’s 2025 targets are supported by the Federal and all Australian State and Territory Governments and were included in the 2019 National Waste Policy Action Plan and
the 2021 National Plastics Plan.
In 2023, IVE Group entered the fibre-based packaging sector with the strategic acquisition of JacPak. JacPak is a leading Melbourne based short to medium run length packaging player in the $800M folding cartons segment of the Australian packaging sector. IVE Group’s joining of APCO builds on JacPak’s previous efforts as a signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant, continuing and extending the combined group’s efforts to embed sustainable practice throughout its operations.
